What is FAQ?
What is Instadoc? Instadoc provides you access to a medical consultation with an Australian registered, qualified and experienced Doctor locally or via voice/video call, anywhere in Australia. Our platform allows you access to affordable and effective health consultations supplementing your current healthcare system. Our goal is to give you and your loved ones timely access to your usual or new health care provider. You may use the “On Call GP” and the first available Doctor will connect with you. If you are not eligible for a bulk-billed consult, a reasonably priced private fee will be assigned. Our Doctors are qualified and are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), as required by the Medical Board of Australia. Instadoc adheres to the standards developed by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural & Remote Medicine (ACRRM) for medical services. Can Anyone use Instadoc Services? Adults aged 17 years or older may consent to use Instadoc services, and must be within Australia. If you are under the age of 17, you can access and use the service with the consent of a parent or guardian and with their presence. Please create a new profile with your child’s name to make their booking. What is Instadoc used for? Our Doctors are available to provide a wide range of services as needed, if clinically appropriate. Doctors may issue medical certificates, prescriptions, specialist referrals, pathology & radiology requests, and medical advice as appropriate. You may make your requests known to the Doctor within the consultation. Your payment is for the Doctor’s consultation time. Your Doctor will determine if it is clinically appropriate to supply a certain document or prescription. Can I obtain a prescription through Instadoc? Yes, you may receive your prescriptions through Instadoc if determined to be clinically appropriate by the Doctor. ePrecriptions are also available and may be transmitted directly to you via SMS or to an elected pharmacy if convenient. This is only possible if you have a Medicare number or an Individual-Healthcare-Identifier number (IHI). If you do not have Medicare or an IHI, you may apply for one here for future consultations: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/how-to-get-individual-healthcare-identifier *Please note some restricted medications may not be supplied via telehealth, this may be discussed during your consultation. Can I obtain a quick ePrescription through Instadoc? Yes, ePrecriptions are also available and may be transmitted directly to you via SMS or to an elected pharmacy if convenient. This is only possible if you have a Medicare number or an Individual-Healthcare-Identifier number (IHI). Can I obtain a Specialist Referral through Instadoc? Yes, you may obtain a new or renewed specialist referral. If you know the name of your existing specialist, please have this information ready to give to the Doctor during the consultation. You will receive this referral to your provided email. If you have a valid Medicare Card, it will enable you to receive a Medicare rebate on your specialist appointment. Remember, your payment is for the Doctor’s consultation time. The Doctor will determine if it is clinically appropriate to supply a certain document. Can I obtain a Blood Test/Pathology or XRAY/Radiology Referral through Instadoc? Yes, you may obtain a pathology or radiology referral if deemed appropriate by the Doctor during the consultation. You will receive this referral to your provided email. Remember, your payment is for the Doctor’s consultation time. The Doctor will determine if it is clinically appropriate to supply a certain document. How much will the consultation cost?
